At Klā Sanctuary and Selah Lounge, we believe in cultivating ecosystems of care—not just for our guests, but for our team as well. Part of that commitment is reflected in our 20% service fee model, which allows us to create a more sustainable and equitable workplace for our staff.
Unlike traditional fee structures, 100% of the service fee goes directly to our staff. It does not fund building maintenance, corporate overhead, or unrelated expenses. Instead, it acts as a revenue share—a dedicated portion of every service that is intentionally set aside to support the people who bring Klā and Selah to life.
Our goal is simple: to create a workplace where our staff can thrive. By building this model, we reduce reliance on unpredictable tips and instead ensure that every team member, regardless of position, shares in the value created together. Whether preparing spaces, offering treatments, or tending to the smallest details, we work as one team to craft an exceptional guest experience—and we believe our compensation should reflect that collective effort.
We recognize that every business approaches compensation differently, and we honor the diversity of practices across the service industry. At Klā and Selah, this model reflects our values of connection, sustainability, and intentionality. We believe that by committing to a shared business model that dedicates revenue directly to staff, we’re paving a better path forward—one where wellness is nurtured not only in our guests, but in the people who care for them.
